Thank you to everyone who attended our fundraiser on Wednesday, May 21, 2008. A very special thanks to Theaster Gates for all his hard work in preparing and organizing this event.

The Black Monks of Mississippi provided the background music. .	Maria Villarreal, a teaching artist at the Center, attends the event.	Theaster Gates jams with the Black Monks.

 

Illyrs, Cynamon, Antonio "Tone Tone", and Crystal are teenagers involved with the Art Center. They helped at the event.

The event was held at a Pilsen gallery and included drinks and live music, a delicious soul food dinner, and a performance by the Black Monks of Mississippi.
